FaceWatch

Frequently asked questions

What does FaceWatch do?

It compares a face in your photo with faces on publicly indexed web pages and shows pages that may contain a similar-looking face. It is a reverse face search, so it looks at images, not names.

Is it really free to try?

Yes. You can run free searches every day without creating an account. A free search shows the matching photos, a similarity score and, for some sites, where they appear. To open the original pages and images you start a plan.

How much does it cost?

You can start for $1: a one-day trial that includes a full search and every source link. After the trial your chosen plan starts automatically and renews until you cancel: Monthly ($29.99 per month, 100 searches) or Yearly ($299 per year, unlimited searches subject to fair use). Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing more.

Does a high score mean it is the same person?

No. Scores are matching scores, not identity probabilities. Results can include false matches and are not proof that two images show the same person. Always check the source yourself.

Is my photo stored?

No. Your photo is used to run the search and is not saved by FaceWatch. We keep your search history (result scores, site names and links) so you can come back to it, and you can delete it at any time.

What kind of photo works best?

A clear, sharp, front-facing photo of one adult, in good light, with nothing covering the face. Blurry, dark, very small or heavily filtered photos give poor results.

Where does it search?

Public web pages only, such as social media profiles, news sites, blogs, forums and image galleries. It does not access private accounts, private messages or non-public databases.

Does it work in every country?

You can use FaceWatch from anywhere. Results depend on what is publicly available on the web.

How do I cancel?

Open your dashboard and choose Manage billing, then cancel. If you cancel during the trial you will not be charged for the plan. If you cancel later, access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.

Can I delete my history and account?

Yes. From your dashboard you can delete individual searches, your whole history, or your account and all associated data.

My photo appears in results, or someone is misusing it. What can I do?

Use the Report abuse page to ask for an image to be removed or to report misuse. We review every report.

Can I search for a child?

No. Searches involving children are prohibited. The service is for adults searching for their own images or checking for impersonation.

What is not allowed?

Stalking, harassment, doxxing, and using results to make decisions about employment, housing, credit or insurance.
